In Case You Missed It: Twitter.

As if 2022 couldn’t get any more exciting, Elon Musk just bought Twitter and that is not the most exciting part that has had everyone talking since the takeover happened yesterday. We all have the same question, What’s next?

Elon Musk is one of those people that just have to get everything they want and in this case, downloading the app like most of us just wasn’t enough, he had to own it. He has in the past pointed out all the flaws about Twitter he would want to fix and it seems he is ready to do that now. Firstly he promised that there is going to be an edit button. I am not sure if that is a fun thing. Digging up people’s old tweets has always been a major key in revealing who they are or who they were before fame. Of course, the deleting option has always been there. I guess this is goodbye to, “This you?”

If he actually gets rid of all the bots and ads, I WILL BE ETERNALLY GRATEFUL. Don't get me wrong, I understand that people have to push their hustles but not at the expense of my timeline feed. It ends up looking cluttered and disorganized, especially with the number of ads increasing and more and more developers creating bots. Bots are cool as a part-time university project but please, we are tired (my tribe and I).

Are we getting OPEN SOURCE TWITTER?

Maybe, just maybe. And best believe the dev world is going to go bananas when it happens. So on behalf of all techies I say, do it Mr. Musk, do it for us -the little guys.

I will be honest tho, I am here for the free speech we have been promised. Yes, I am not a fan of the edit button but as humans (lol!) we deserve to exist in a world where we are free to say what we want and be heard.

I guess for now we wait and see.
